The journey of life and over many lives leads to a gradual evolving of the human being along with all things in nature.

Many developments and skills are the obvious ones such as physical abilities, intellectual skills and technological achievements. But the subtler aspect of our progress is measured in other ways that demonstrate we are changing, developing and refining our faculties and senses.

Although statistics are somewhat overwhelming regarding the numbers of people who contract and often die of cancer, our fears can be somewhat modified when we learn of other factors in other areas of the numbers game. This helps us to gain a different perspective regarding the dangers that are out there influencing how long and how healthily we are likely to live in the ‘developed’ world.

For instance, Iatrogenic diseases (those created by modern medical treatment) is the third most fatal disease in the U.S with conservatively 100,000 patients every year die or are injured by prescribed drugs, surgical procedures gone wrong, hospital neglect, wrong diagnoses and the prevalence of medical ‘mistakes’.

Depression melts away when our mental waves and restless thought is stilled.

 

We learn to take pleasure in making no conscious effort.

 

We find that we enjoy periods of just Being.

 

And find that it is Good.

Christmas was a time of celebration long before the birth of the Christ.

In ancient times it was celebrated as the time of year when the passage of the Sun had apparently seemed to return to the northern hemisphere to bring new life and hope for the new year.

It was also hailed as a deeply spiritual time when priesthoods reminded the people of their close link with the Creator through encouraging them to identify with the spark of God inside them.

Many experiences of our early life are buried and considered as forgotten, even some that may seem to others as insignificant. A common habit of name-calling as a juvenile method of hurting others causes much temporary and sometimes long lasting pain. Regrettably the habit remains in use as mental ammunition used into adulthood by those wishing to continue to use it destructively.

There are many people who experience severe trauma in early life as their minds are developing. They are influenced by vocal negative criticism, especially any that seem to them unwarranted. Although this cannot compare with severe physical and psychological abuse, it is an indication of how deeply any trauma can affect us, sometimes for the whole of our lives.
